Walworth Wellness

The Giving Lab granted funding to Walworth Wellness to initiate a new way of supporting communities in the local area to improve their health and wellbeing. Through partnerships with local GP's, Walworth Wellness aims to set up referral systems and engage people in local social activities over a period of 8 weeks. The aim is to use social prescriptions to support the wellbeing of Walworth residents, specifically those suffering from a Multiple Long Term Health Condition that would traditionally require a medical prescription to lessen the impact of their condition.

IS WORK WORKING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH?

Project 'Is Work Working Your Mental Health?' was created by a group of local Southwark residents, Big Fish Big Pond, who have lived-in experience of mental health and unmeaningful work. Their project looks to create a documentary, where the interview responses of participants will be embedded into the film. The documentary will highlight the relationship between meaningful work and mental health as well as uncover the correlations between work and wellbeing, general thoughts around BAME workplace opportunities and other experiences of the respondents.
