Jonathan Carmel, PhD


Jonathan leads and supports a range of projects relating to the strategic use of evidence for social issues including education, employment and wellbeing. He is also part of a multi-partner effort to set up a Civic Innovation Hub in Hackney, bringing together residents, social entrepreneurs and local authority teams in a new way to provide support and services to the community.

Jonathan has a MSci in Chemistry and PhD in carbon dioxide reduction and sustainable fuels from Imperial College London. Before joining TSIP, Jonathan worked in academic and commercial research undertaking consultancy projects and volunteering with local and international charities. Jonathan has also co-founded a popular not-for-profit website and app.
